Privacy Policy
In short: your data belongs to you. Happy Health has no server, no account, no tracking, and no ads. As the developer, I can’t see any of your data.

1. What data the app processes
Happy Health only stores what you enter yourself or explicitly allow:
- Training: training plans, exercises, sets, weights, reps, rest times, intensity, and notes.
- Body data: weight, body measurements, and your optional goal weight.
- Progress photos: only photos you pick yourself. The app gets no access to the rest of your photo library.
- Settings: for example units, reminder times, and appearance.
2. Where your data is stored
- On your device. The app works fully offline.
- In your private iCloud, if you’re signed in to iCloud on your device. The app uses it to sync your data between your devices. The data sits in your private iCloud database. Only you have access to it, not me as the developer. Apple’s privacy policy applies to iCloud.
- In backup files, if you export a backup in the app. You decide where to store the file.
There is no server of my own. The app doesn’t send any data to me or to third parties.
3. Apple Health
Connecting to Apple Health is optional and can be turned off at any time in the app’s settings. You control which data is shared in the Health app.
- Read: body weight, calorie intake (for example from a nutrition app), sleep, and the heart rate and active calories of your workouts. The app uses them to show your weight trend and your insights.
- Write: weights you log in the app, and your workouts as strength training, so they appear in Apple Health and the Fitness app.
Data from Apple Health is only displayed on your device. It isn’t stored in iCloud, isn’t shared, and is never used for advertising or marketing.
4. Apple Watch
When you start a workout, the Apple Watch app can run along. It records heart rate and calories as a workout in Apple Health and exchanges the workout status directly with your iPhone. Nothing goes over the internet.
5. Notifications, Siri, Shortcuts, and Apple Intelligence
Reminders like the weigh-in reminder or the end of a rest are local notifications scheduled on your device. If you use Siri or Shortcuts with Happy Health, Apple processes your voice commands under its own terms. The app only receives the action, for example “Start Workout”.
When you create an exercise, the app can suggest muscles, equipment, and instructions if you ask it to. It uses Apple Intelligence directly on your device. The exercise name doesn’t leave your iPhone and isn’t stored anywhere. Without Apple Intelligence, the feature is simply hidden.
6. No tracking, no analytics, no ads
Happy Health contains no analytics or advertising services and no third-party software that collects data. There is no user account.
7. Deleting your data
- Single entries: delete them directly in the app.
- Everything on the device: delete the app.
- Everything in iCloud: Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Storage → Happy Health → Delete Data.
- Apple Health: in the Health app, you can manage the data written by Happy Health and its access under Profile → Apps → Happy Health.
8. Your rights
Since I don’t receive any personal data from you, I can’t provide information about it or delete it: everything is with you. Regardless, under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and objection, as well as the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. If you have questions, feel free to write to me.
9. This website
This site is served via GitHub Pages (GitHub Inc., USA). When you visit it, GitHub processes technically necessary data such as your IP address to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Details are in GitHub’s privacy statement. The site itself sets no cookies and uses no analytics tools.
10. Changes
If anything changes about how the app handles data, I’ll update this policy and the date above.
